English 101 is a reading and composition course designed to prepare students to handle a wide range of college writing assignments and to acquire the analytic skills necessary for effective academic preparation. Stress is placed on the organization and composition of objective expository and argumentative essays, including the research paper.
Assignment: Write an essay on a controversial issue that impacts student life. Learn more about the issue, and take a position on it. Present the issue to readers, then develop a well-supported argument for the purpose of confirming, challenging, or changing your readers' views on the issue. You will be using ETHOS, PATHOS, LOGOS appeals to support your position.
